What Type of Ceremonies? I conduct various kinds of Ceremonies, in particular Weddings, Commitment Ceremonies, Renewal of Vow Ceremonies and Baby/Child Naming Ceremonies.
Make Contact: Please give me a call or send an email to check whether I am available on the date you have planned your wedding or other ceremony. I can usually pencil in this date until we get a chance to meet in person, or I can lock it in immediately.
Meetings: After we meet in person, obligation free, you then decide if you would like to go ahead with the booking and let me know. I think its essential that you are both happy with your choice of Celebrant, as this person will assist in all the preparations leading up to, and on the day of your wedding, so you want to feel comfortable with your choice. Take your time and discuss things through before letting me know.
At our meeting, feel free to ask as many questions as you like. Nothing is too big or small to consider discussing. You may know exactly what you want, or you may want advice. Sometimes I find asking what you don’t like about ceremonies can give me a strong sense of your style and how to create a unique marriage ceremony that fits your relationship!
Legal Requirements: I am happy to provide examples of ceremonies and other materials. This includes a copy of the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) form, which is the first legal form that needs to be completed for your marriage to proceed. To complete this you will need to bring your original birth certificates and if you have been previously married, a Decree Absolute; or the Death certificate of a previous spouse.
In Australia you need to be over 18 to marry, and if you were born in Australia you need to show your birth certificate. If born overseas, then your birth certificate or passport from your country of birth. On your wedding day, you will need two witnesses over the age of 18.
Further Contact: After your booking, I am available for further contact according to your needs and wishes. We can be in touch via phone, email, Skype or in person. Where possible, personal appointments should be made a week in advance.
Closer to the day, I will email you a copy of your ceremony so that you can review it and approve it – or change things where the need arises. By this stage we would have had many conversations and I aim to capture all of your thoughts, and script them into the ceremony. You can select or write your own vows, you can have it short or long, it’s all up to you!
You will also need to sign a statutory declaration form, stating that there is no impediment to your marriage, prior to the ceremony. I will have prepared this form for you both.
Wedding Rehearsal: If you require a rehearsal, I may have to add an additional fee. Please confirm with me as soon as you know your plans.
Wedding related services: If you need any help or suggestions about wedding related services for the Southern Highlands, I may be able to assist in guiding you with various local options.
I ask that the remaining payment be settled one week prior to the wedding date.
Fees: Please call me to discuss your requirements. I generally ask for a non-refundable deposit to secure your booking.
